Meet the Maldonados
When it comes to Easton Park events, the Maldonado family might win an award for best attendance. While they have been coming to Parkapalooza since the beginning, the family just moved into Skyline Park in January 2020. They loved their new home so much that their son, Ramon recently moved to the neighborhood as well! We sat down with Maria to get the scoop on how they like it and her dreams for a neighborhood dog park.
Tell me about your family!
It’s my husband Raymone, my daughter Marissa, and our five yorkies: Toby and Lexie, and their daughters Daisy, Mia, and Gigi.
How did you first find Easton Park?
We had been looking for a while, and we had been out to see Easton when it was just Bryant Park. We didn’t bite the bullet and actually do it, even though we were not happy with our old neighborhood. We would go back and forth to all the events to go to see the houses—my daughter was in love with the neighborhood, and she was pushing. But I was hesitant—I don’t like to move.
Who was your builder? What made you fall in love with your home?
We went with Dreamfinders, and Jerry was our rep. We loved the openness! In fact, we liked it so much, we bought our son Ramon the same house!
Wait, really?! That’s amazing!
Yes! When we moved to our house, he liked it so much we bought him the same house! He just moved in with his two kids. I like having grandbabies down the street; they can ride bikes down to our house or I can go to them. And my daughter has tried to get her friends to move here!
Now that you’re here, what is your favorite part of being part of the Easton community?
We like how the neighborhood is quiet. You can go for a walk, and it’s nice and quiet out there. You have neighbors who are nice and drop off cookies to welcome you to the neighborhood. We just had the last house on our street get finished, and then it’s going to be done.
Have you gotten to go to The Union?
No, but we went to event when it first opened, and we got to see it. My daughter is crazy about the pool. She even bought herself a hanging chair for the lanai. We screened in the lanai, and lately we’ve been trying to stay in as much as possible to keep ourselves safe from anything. It’s nice to be able to go out there without worrying about the mosquitos or stuff like that.
Oh cool! So you guys have been to lots of Easton Park events like Parkapalooza and Easton Made?
Oh yes! They’re always so much fun! My daughter and I like to look at the homes and get ideas. The best part of going to model homes is looking at how they design them. At Easton Made, we made a bag, and my daughter has already started collecting the pins.
What would you say to someone thinking of moving to Easton?
You absolutely should. It’s a wonderful place! I love it.
