Get ready to enjoy the skyline!

We’re excited to announce that work on Skyline Park is going well, and things are taking shape! Located between Colton-Bluff Springs Road, Apogee Road, and Hillock Terrace, Skyline Park already has many of the trails in place.

Our Biggest Park Yet

When it’s completed next year, Skyline Park will be a crown jewel in the Easton Park system. At more than 21 acres, it’s our biggest park so far, and this one will have something for everyone! In addition to the amazing view of the Austin skyline, you’ll find a splash pad, two cool play areas, swings, slides, restrooms, a great lawn with a shaded concert pavilion, a zipline, picnic valley, and even a scale model of Austin’s famous Pennybacker Bridge. The more manicured parts of the park are surrounded by restored Blackland Prairie natural areas that help our native bird, insect, and plant communities thrive.

Welcome to Splash Eddy

While Skyline Park is named for a park in Denver, many of its best features are inspired by the best parts of Austin. Kids of all ages are invited to cool off in Splash Eddy, our circular splash pad with multiple layers of fountains and sprayers. A central green area and lots of trees provide a respite from the concrete.

Play for Days

Skyline Park features not one but two different playground areas, as well as additional swings, slides built right into the hillsides, and a zip line! Bigger kids (ages 5 and up) will love our 3-story playscape which is ADA accessible from the bridge on the second level. It has multiple connecting structures that wind into our own Pennybacker Bridge! The bridge connects to our playscape for smaller kids (ages 2-5). This play area features shorter climbing structures and fun, colorful rubber mounds that are great for running, bouncing, and jumping.

Hang with the Neighbors

One of the main purposes of Skyline Park is to create community gathering spots, and this park delivers! Neighbors can hang out at Picnic Valley, our grassy area with lots of tables and spots for blankets, as well as the Great Lawn – the perfect spot for an impromptu concert or street vs. street soccer match. We can’t wait to host Music in the Park events at the concert pavilion! There will also be a public art installation at the Mount Bonnell overlook section of the park – look for more information on that coming soon.
While the grand opening celebration won’t take place until early next year, we’re already getting excited. While all of our parks are open to the public, they’re more fun when they’re in your backyard! If you’re not yet an Easton Park resident, find your home now.
