2-0-1-9: Feeling Mighty Fine!

This year went so fast, y’all! We had so many good adventures, and Easton Park really came into its own this year. Here are a few of our favorite highlights:

Skyline Park Closings: In January 2019, we had our first closings in Skyline Park, and the first homes were completed in September 2019. This beautiful new section of Easton Park is now home to 33 families!

Union Park East Opened: Featuring smaller yards and rear-garage access, homes in Union Park started selling in March 2019 and we are excited to have our first residents move in soon!

Brunch on the Block: On March 9, we whipped up waffles and Bloody Marys as we welcomed prospective residents to tour the beautiful model homes in Union Park East.

East Games: On June 15, more than 20 Easton Park residents gathered in Bryant Park to compete for the honor and the glory of the East Games. Competition was friendly but fierce, and ultimately Team 3 (Johnny, Lisa, Nathan, Alicia, and Patrick) took home the prize.

The Union Opened: WE FINALLY GOT A POOL, Y’ALL! On July 27, we opened the doors to our 14,000-square foot amenity center featuring a game room, fitness center, coffee bar and resort-style pool!

Parkapalooza: After rain caused a postponement, our annual party in the park was go! In July we had more than 1,100 residents and guests come out to Union Park for our 4th Annual Parkapalooza featuring music from Blue Water Highway and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears.

Music in the Park: Our live concert series at the Union kicked off in August, and we had additional shows in September in October. We rocked out to Ruby Jane & the Reckless, Genuine Leather, Shooks, SWELLS, P.T. Banks and Harvest Thieves. Look for more shows coming next year!

Easton Made: With food trucks, a live DJ and handmade treasures from local makers, our 2nd Annual Easton Made kicked off the holiday season with shopping, snacking and good times.

2019 By the Numbers:

17: Local makers showcased at Easton Made: From Goodness Press and Lemon Made Shop to Fringe + Flair and more, we had jewelry, shirts, toys, plants, beauty products, pet products and lots of other goodies from local Austin entrepreneurs.

13: Bands hosted: Yes, we had bands at Parkapalooza, but don’t forget the live music at our Music in the Park shows, Eastcation and Cupcakes & Cocktails. We’re doing our part to keep Austin the Live Music Capital of the World!

$3,500: Money raised for nonprofit partners: With your help, we made donations to CTX Food Bank, Del Valle Education Partners, Newton Collins Elementary, Habitat for Humanity, Kids in the New Groove, HAAM, and Mobile Loaves & Fishes. Great job, y’all!

$3,500: Funds raised for nonprofit partners:

20: Food trucks hosted: Between First Friday Food Trucks and all of our other events, we noshed on everything from grilled cheese and tacos to chile, crepes, bowls and burgers. And that doesn’t even include the dessert trucks…

6: Movies in the East shown: We love our neighborhood tradition of gathering in Bryant Park for food trucks and movies! From action flicks like Aquaman and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom to films that tugged at our heartstrings (A Dog’s Way Home—amiright?!), we loved watching movies with y’all.

20: Coffee cups brought to the Union coffee station: We can’t decide which we like better—the goofy mugs or the free coffee. Thanks for contributing—and keep ‘em coming!

200: Tacos served at Taco Tuesdays: If only we knew which taco was the favorite?! Chicken fajita? Crispy beef? We’ll work on metrics for this for next year.

685: Students who attended Newton-Collins Elementary: Way to go, Kangaroos! We’re so proud of all the students, teachers and staff at our local elementary school.

87: Total body toning classes held at the fitness center: We see you there, putting in the time and working on your fitness! Way to go, Eastonites! We’ll be there in January trying to make our resolutions happen.

10: New dogs in the hood: This is just a ruff guess (see what we did there?!), but we love all our new doggie neighbors! Be sure to send us a picture so we can profile your pooch for our Pawfiles series!

40: New residents: Big welcome hugs to all of our new neighbors—unless you’re not huggers. We’ve got welcome handshakes, high-fives and waves, too. Anyway, we’re so glad you’re here!

2019 has been a great year, largely thanks to our wonderful builders and amazing residents! We are so grateful to all of you who make Easton Park such an awesome community.
